The staff and students at St. Elizabeth would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the Administrative Assistants today on “Administrative Assistant’s Day”. Behind every successful day at school – however you measure that success – is YOU. YOU are the face of our schools. The first smile that our students and families see when they come to us. YOU are the medical expert, giving ice, providing tissues and paper towels, handing out medication and inhalers. YOU are the mental health experts, calming bodies, minds, and hearts with ease. YOU are the ones that our students go to for everything they need; the ones that all staff go to for everything they need; and the ones that our Administrators go to for everything we need. YOU at the one.
Today we recognize the sacrifices you make in your personal time, your family time and in your lives for the good of the school. We recognize the dedication you have to your communities, and we recognize the challenges that you deal with – with ease.
Today we recognize YOU and the impact that you have on our world. You keep us all going!

Do you know a student in Grade 8 who would be interested in earning their first high school credit this summer through an online learning opportunity?
The HIF 10 Individual and Family Living course has been designed to ease the transition for students transitioning to high school. The course begins with an introduction to online learning which will build a student’s skills as they navigate any digital platform. As the course progresses, students will cover key learning expectations in numeracy, literacy, science, and geography, as well as developing learning strategies that will aid them as they progress through high school. This credit can count as one of a student’s two mandatory online credits before graduation and will count as one of their 18 elective credits toward graduation requirements.
This is an online course. There is no in-person or digital class time for this course, however, teachers will have daily office hours to support students with their work. This online format provides students with the flexibility to do their approximately 6 hours of course content a day at a time of day that works best for them, so they can work around part-time jobs, activities and time with family and friends. Daily participation by the student is expected to earn a credit. Vacation plans should be scheduled outside of summer school.
Units of Study: Online Learning Skills, Numeracy, Literacy, Health & Wellness, Science, Geography
Dates: July 2nd to 26th (Monday to Friday)
Time: An average of 6 hours per day
This course is available FREE to WCDSB Students entering Grade 9.
