Pink Shirt Day

February 26 ~ Pink Shirt Day

In 200 a Grade 9 student at a school in Nova Scotia was teased for wearing a pink polo shirt to school. The next day, students at the school all wore pink shirts in solidarity and support for him. Pink Shirt Day is now celebrated as a way to spread kindness and acceptance. On Wednesday, February 26 everyone across the Waterloo Catholic District School Board is encouraged to wear pink to promote a message of inclusion to  “lift each other up.” Wear pink tomorrow, Eagles, to show that you take a stand against bullying! Let’s start the beginning of Lent with a message of kindness and inclusion.

Pancake Tuesday

This is a reminder that tomorrow is Pancake Tuesday, and students will be served delicious pancakes in the morning. Since we are an Eco-school, students are encouraged to bring in a plate and fork from home tomorrow. We look forward to our pancake celebration tomorrow, and then to the distribution of ashes on Wednesday, at our Ash Wednesday liturgy.
