February 1 to 5 is #WCDSBPetWeek!

February 1 to 5 2021 is #WCDSBPetWeek in Waterloo Region’s Catholic Schools.

Throughout the week, we invite all students and staff to share on social media their pets, and how their pets are helping them cope with COVID-19.

If your family doesn’t have a real pet, please feel free to create a “virtual” pet and share that …. or share a favourite stuffy.

We are all #InThisTogether – and everyone can play!

Remember to use the hashtag #WCDSBPetWeek when you share.

And then check out www.wcdsb.ca/wcdsbpetweek frequently as all the posts are gathered!

New Year’s Message from St. Mary of the Visitation Parish

A New Year’s Message from Fr. Love:

We have just had a challenging year and look forward to a better year in 2021. It is in our belief and faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ that gives us hope for the future. Despite the challenges we face, He is with us, and loves and cares for us. In Psalms 139 God describes how well He knows each one of us; “Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways“. Our faith in Christ gives us hope for the future. As winter gives way to Spring, and then to Summer, may we, who have received God’s divine grace also be hopeful for the coming year. May the Lord Bless each one of you and keep you safe. I want to wish all of you a blessed and Happy New Year.

Fr. Robert Love

PA Day on Friday, January 22

This is a reminder that Friday, January 22 is a PA day and there will be no school for students. Students will NOT be required to log on to their devices on that day because there will be no online classes.

Switching Learning Environments

If you are thinking of switching your child’s mode of learning, either to online learning at St. Isidore, or back to in-person learning, please note that the survey opens on January 27th. The window of opportunity to change is between 9 am on January 27th and 6 pm on January 29th, 2021. It will not be possible to register your child for St. Isidore after this deadline.

Several teachers have reported connectivity issues with synchronous learning this morning. Please bear with us while we try to resolve this problem.

Thank you for your patience and understanding if this is happening to you.

School Building Closure Update to WCDSB Parents Jan 8th 21

Thank you all for the positive messages which we have received during the past week. Our teachers have been working hard to make online learning fun and engaging. Students have risen to the occasion and helped to make this a great learning experience. Let’s keep this up for the next two weeks, after which we hope to meet once again for in-school learning.
