Dear St. Elizabeth families
Attached is a letter regarding the continued school closure. Teachers have been reaching out to families this week, checking in on how everyone is, and asking about access to technology. Families who indicated a need for access to devices will be contacted again very soon with arrangement details for pick-up.
We miss you all and the next few weeks will bring the challenge of teacher-led learning from home. We ask that you direct your children to their Google Classroom or D2L class website for instructions and guidance from their teachers. The WCDSB will also have supplementary information on its new WCDSB Lean@Home website. This includes links to mental health resources. Check our Twitter feed for additional ideas and sharing of news
We continue to keep you foremost in our thoughts. Please reach out to your children’s teachers if you have questions and concerns. Remember, the building is closed, but the learning continues, and so does our Eagle community!
Dear St. Elizabeth families,
We all hope that you are keeping well and coping during these very trying times. We know that many of you work in essential services on the “front line”, and others may well be facing lay-offs from work, all of which can be very stressful. We are keeping you all in our prayers, and hope that it will not be too long before we can gather together once more as a community.
We met as a staff yesterday on-line, and we are all missing the students very much. There have been a variety of links shared on Twitter and on our school website via Newswire. Even if you do’t have a Twitter account, you can see these posted on our school website and scroll through them. Please check out the WCDSB STEAM days activities, and also the Ministry website for ideas to keep your children engaged and occupied. Also, please ask your children to look at their class Google Classroom and D2L accounts, where many teachers have also been posting ideas. There is no expectation for students to complete all of these activities, but rather to use what fits your family’s needs best. Intermediate teachers have also devised a “Sign of Hope” activity for their students, which will be fun and uplifting.
During the next few days you can expect an email or phone call from your child’s teacher to check in on how your children are doing. Teachers are also working hard over the next week and a bit to put together distance learning materials on Google Classroom and D2L. They will let you know when this is ready to begin. Meanwhile, please let your children’s teachers know of any ways in which we can support you.
Stay home, stay healthy, and know that we are here for you.
